Nothing stops the progress now

The Heleboris doesn't seem to mind being transplanted - it is covered with blooms.

And we have stairs from the basement to the first floor - no more ladder!

Week 3 - looks like a house

I can't believe what a difference a week makes in building a house. When Rick (Michael's brother) said you won't be able to keep up once you start, he was right. There is just stuff happening every day - every day!

Raising the basement for head room

The boys say we'll have a floor by the end of the week - what fun!

Hammers at the ready!

I just couldn't wait until the end of the week - LOOK at what's happening. The framers are chillin' (they were talking about needing a trash barrel so they could burn the wood scraps - silly boys).

Two brave souls

Two Crocus decided they didn't care how much was going on around them, it's time to bloom.

North Side

From the front, you can see where the old concrete stairs used to be and there is evidence of building - piles of wood, old concrete and mud - it's a good thing.

Framing

The concrete work was done this week and the beginnings of the framing.
The framers started to extend the basement some to make for actual head room.

Week 2 - February 8, 2009

You can see the posts where the decks will be. These are along the east side of the house.
