Week 25 - Insulation goes in

We are blown away at the difference the insulation has made. It was just a two day task but man, it feels like we have a house now instead a box full of sawdust. It's quiet, feels solid as a rock and much cooler - last one is great since the weather has turned warm lately.

It's hard to find a spot to take a picture that shows off all the crafsmanship that is going into the siding and shingles - but here's a shot at it.

Week 24 - Getting ready for insulation

We had a friend who is an amazing photographer come over and video the entire house before the insulation went in so we'd have a chance of remembering what was behind the walls. It took us 3 days to walk through each room talking and pointing to everything that will soon be behind walls. Here are a few pictures of the pre-insulation days.

Other things going on

Always happy to see a blossom or two.

You can see how the window trims and corner pieces are fitting together. They are cedar that will be stained to matchthe shingles. Also some of the soffit is done - it's Pine that wll just get a clear coat for protection - no color.

The pictures don't do justice to the feel of the house now that there are shingles and siding up.

Week 22 & 23 - all outdoors

It would appear that you can't put up siding without ladders - lots of ladders.
