More details in the front

There are shingles all along the front bay now and the soffet is nearly complete. Once the front steps are done, the rest of the hardiplank will go up.
The painter started this week so it's a race to see if we can get the rest of the exterior roughed in in time for the painting to be done.

Week 29 - Exterior developments

The plans called for semi-circle concrete front steps - a rather grand entrannce. We've put off doing the front of the house because neither one of us felt it was a good fit - the house is comfy, not grand. Well, finally, we have a plan and the building has begun. Below you see pictures of the frame and concrete slab we did this weekend. This will be a nice place for the recycle and yard waste bins - out of sight once he surrounding frame and hardiplank are done.

First the frame was built, then it got filld with chuncks of left overs (below), and then some 20 bags of concrete mix later it is a beautiful platform.
